11/2005 The Urban Planning Study of the Sokolov Coal Field West Part
(hereinafter referred to as Medard Study) is follow-up to the prognosis, which it develops in detail for an area of 44 km2 extended between towns of Habartov and Sokolov and villages of Bukovany, Citice, Chlum Svaté Maří and Svatava. It is predominantly an area of the former quarries of Medard – Libík, Lítov – Boden and Gustav, on which mining was terminated and currently reclamation is either in progress or was completed. The study attempts evaluating of the “newly revealed” potential proposing new activities and intentions that may be situated in the vast areas of the surrounding of the future Medard Lake.
The study demonstrates the possible use of the area dealt with. With time, it will come out what will be the form a scope of implementation of the ideas.
